Photography has been a part of my life since childhood. My father was a photographer in high school and briefly pursued a career in photography in the 1960s. He painstakingly lighted and filmed many family events using 16mm color film at a time when using 8mm was easier and cheaper.

My own interest in photography came later in life. I started taking photographs of buildings in Milwaukee in 2002 as historical documents. As my ability to 'see' photographically has developed, my photographs have become more than mere documents and have become a means of artistic expression.

I work in traditional film as well as digital media using 35 mm, 6x7 cm film and the Nikon D70 digital SLR.
